I have Gateway essential PC, installed a 200G HD. See's 33G in bios and when XP installs. I have updated bios to latest 4W4SB0X0.15A.0019.P14. It has an Intel WS440BX mother board (AA 744110-206) and a PIII 550mhz processor. What are my options?

Best bet is an add-on EIDE controller card.

Thanks Soupy,
I have been looking for a new bios to get me to 137G but cannot find one. I have an early PII that I put in a 120G HD with no problem. Never thought a PIII would be so much trouble. Now I need to figure out how these controllers work. I have PCI 2.1 which supports 66mhz. Does that mean my PCI bus is 66mhz? My 200G HD is 133ata. Should I get a 133ata controller, will my system see the speed difference from a 100ata?

Thanks for your help
Jeff

XP should be able to adress the full HDD size using XP-own HDD managment tools.
If not then use an Add-on PCI Controller card but make sure it's backwards compatible to PCI 2.1 - some of them require PCI 2.2 .
There's almost no difference in speed between ATA100 and 133.
