Hello,

as the subject says i would like to use a 80GB HD (Western Digital WD80BB) with an MSI K7 Pro.
The latest BIOS from MSI is flashed, but it has a limit of 65GB.
I contacted the MSI-support, but they wrote that they don't support the board any more so they cannot help me.

Perhaps you can.

An AMI BIOS of that date should support HDDs up to 137GB. What are the symptoms of your problem? Does the machine hang on POST, or config display, or is it a problem when using FDISK or FORMAT?

In fact, I've done no test with the HD because MSI says there IS a 65GB limit and my HD is full with data. I don't want to lose the data by testing.
The HD is working ATM here with my Intel Rochester PIII/450 and I want a faster machine for internet usage. So I'm planning a speed-up with the msi-board.

According to Bios notes this Bios supports 65GB HDD. They should have better written 65+GB, this Bios supports HDD up to 128GB.

You mean they fooled me?
I'll check this as soon as my data is backed up.

Known Bios limits/problems/Bugs are 8, 32, 64 and 128GB (not counting the limints lower than 8GB), if they write "support 65GB" then there's no 64GB problem
