Neither my 60GB Western Digital, nor my 80GB Samsung harddrive are recognized with the aforementioned Bios. Could my old IDE cable be the problem? Or could my drive-frame be the problem? I've already tried different jumper settings.

Not detected at all or hanging during detection ? Your Bios is supposed to support HDD up to 128/137 GB

Yes, it could. Try a 80-wire cable.

Problem solved!

Thanks for the advice. My old harddrive frame was the problem. With a direct connection to the controller the drive (80GB and 60GB) are detected.
