Awesome site...
I haven't been able to figure out who made my mobo for a bios flash.

here's all I have at this moment.

BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PGM
BIOS ID: 01/21/1999-i440bx-ite867-2a69kh2bc-00

Trying to get the board to even auto recognize in the bios (which it won't)
hhd size 40 gig. WD
I'm at work and will post other info if needed.
Thank you very much

OEM Sign-On is needed to identify the exact PCB version.
There are three Shuttle HOT-661 versions.
Run BIOS Agent and post back your results, please.

Unfortunetly, BA isn't working in dos, as I can't get to windows because this mobo won't even auto recognize.
Here's all I saw come up ...
(6610S124) intel i440bx pci set
award mod v4.51PGM

also, on board by ISA slot is ... V661V31

I hope this is enough.
Is there a dos version of BA, or something that works during boot.
I have to set 1 ide to 'none' in bios Auto Detect' page if I want to get to the 'a' drive as the comp freezes at 'detecting master ide' line.

Thanks again for any info.

IT WORKED !!!!!

I used the link in AJ's post of tested bios and a little tweaking and master jumper musical pins and BAM ... here I am.

Just starting to load in cards. This mobo is only recognizing 768 meg of ram at this time, missing other 256 stick (1-512, 2-256). But may be how I insert order of slots on memory.../ but that's another forum ....
You folks are great, I can't believe how fortunate I was to come across this board.
If there's anything I can do for you folks ... I'm a video/still photographer and do photoshop stuff as well. I'm going to click on all your sponsor links if there here too.

Warmest regards to all....
Kitt

The DIMM socket support 8MB, 16MB, 32MB, 64MB, 128MB and 256MB 3.3V single- or double-side SDRAM DIMM.

I'm at work and not typing this..!!
Final remark about ram... I had all three sticks in, slot 2-256, s3-256, s4-512 and it recog'd 768. So maybe 512 stick is double sided and I may get away with using all my memory if I can find a slot combo order??

Just happy to be booting hhd.
Thanks again for everything.... Will be doing much reading on this site as it's so full of good stuff.

have a great one ... Kitt

Chipset supports max 256MB per slot using 16-chip double-sided memory sticks. Your 512MB stick must be doublesided to show 256MB, a single-sided would appear as 128MB.
