Gigabyte GA-6CXC with BIOS revision F3, doesn't recognise 80GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 ST380011A.

Also, this board doesn't recognise my 1.4ghz tualatin celeron which is using an upgradeware slot-t adapter, yet the same combo work in my much older Gigabyte GA-6BXDS F1 motherboard. The cpu info output by the bios is:

Iunknown: 200mhz

Would a cpu microcode update solve this?

Try sending them a message. They're quite helpful lately, and have provided several beta releases of their BIOSes to some people.
