I've just buy a 320gb IDE maxtor HDD.
I can configure it as 32gb but when i try to install winxp it hang up when it say "veryfing installed hardware...."
My MB is P2L97 with 1010.004 bios

try clearing the cmos and loading setup defaults. reset the configuration data (there's an option in the bios). if it doesn't help try disabling acpi.
