BIOS Updates forum

I already downloaded an update for my BIOS from HP's website, it is dated 1/17/01, and, according to Intel's 48LbaChk, i still need a newer BIOS, as it fails to support 48-bit LBA. i'm trying to install and use the full 300 Gbytes of my Seagate PATA drive.

Bios Agent reported the following:

For a board that old you won't get native 48Bit LBa support. But you should be able to install your OS within the Bios limits (it should detect it either as 128/137GB or you need to limit it to show only 32GB via HDD jumper) and allocate all space above the Bios limits within your OS.
