award 6 bios does it support 300 gig hard drives ?

This weekend my wife bought me a 300 hd
got home plugged it in no drive found no boot no nothing swapped cables jumpers and even tried a usb drive box nothing any ideas please

does the drive spin up? if it's not recognized at all and you already checked the cabeling then the drive might be dead (yes, those things happen even to new drives from time to time).

plugged it in up it spun

so now the hdd is recognized by the bios? with its full capacity?
