I just recently brought a 200GB WD2000JB hard disk and is trying to install onto my Mercury KOB P4X266 NFSX motherboard. My bios only reconigise 137GB of the hard disk. I tried searching for an update bios but to no available.

Please kindly help or advice as I need to do a fresh installation of Windows XP SP1 on the new hard disk.

My Bios Details as follow
01/23/2002 - P4X266-8233-6A6LWE19C-00

Thanks

You will have to slipstream your windows disk with SP2. The bios is not the problem, your windows install disk is.

XP supports bigger HDD starting with SP1 but you should upgrade to SP2 ASAP because of lots of security updates. It's better to download SP2 prior to your fesh install (burn it on CD) as going only with SP1 is rather risky.

All you have to do is to create a HDD partition within your Bios limits and allocate space above 128/137GB if you finished your Windows installation and patching.

Denniss wrote a sticky note about that, too :)
