My BIOS doesn't recognize my second HD

I have Windows XP running on my main 200gb HD. I recently put in an extra 80gb HD just for some extra space and I had in the disk manager and was able to store data on it. Just yesterday I re-formatted my main HD and re-installed XP. Now my other 80gb HD doesn't show up in the disk manager and nor is it found by the BIOS.

Any ideas? It's annoying as it worked perfectly before and it still has all my data on it I'd like to retrieve.

Thanks,
Oblique.

No. I didn't even open my case.

EDIT - nor did I change anything in my BIOS.

maybe the 80GB died.
open your case, pull the plug on the 200GB hdd (power and data). start the pc, enter the bios and see if the 80GB shows up again. make sure the ide channel is enabled and the hdd is connected to the last connector on the ribbon cable (not to the middle one). if the hdd doesn't show up: check if the hdd is spinning up at all (remove the ide cable if it doesn't and check again).
report back with your findings.

I did that and the BIOS recognised it. I checked Device Manager and the Raid Controller diver wasn't installed :S

Done that and all good:)

Thanks for your help,
