K62-450 not recognized

The k62-450 in my Azzz PT-5ITL shows as 400mhz when set at 2x=6x@75mhz :?
Suspect this is a bios thing because with the jumpers set at 75mhz and any number up to 5x multiplier it is recognized correctly eg 3.5x75=266 but 400 seems an upper limit. The problem is there seems to be a performance fall off as if it is 6x66 instead of 6x75.
Does this happen with bioses? If they arent programmed for a certain cpu do they default to something else. Got the latest bios dated 07/16/98. Is there anything I can do about it?
Thanks.

This 400MHz CPU speed indication limit is just a cosmetic issue in this and a lot of other 1998 socket 7 BIOSes. De PC is actually running at 450MHz when you set it to 2x=6x 75MHz. You can check this with a CPU Identification utility like CPU-Z from http://www.cpuid.com or Chkcpu from my homepage.

The 07/16/98 BIOS supports the K6-2 just fine.
