Processor speed

I have a P4 2.4 installed in a ECS P4VXASD2+ 1.0 board. It has the American Megatrends Inc. 07.00T 04/02/01 bios. I have run the pcpitstop tests which shows processor speed of only 1800MHz rather than the posted chip speed of 2400MHz. How can I correct this? Please help..........thanks in advance.
