Sony vio PCG FX-101

I've had the laptop from new but recently decided to upgrade
but i have reached a major problem it originally came with an
(intel celeron 600) i have managed to install an (intel p3 800) but the pentium 3 only runs @ 645 and i have no idea why. There is no settings in bios . To change the core speed ive been told the motherboard has jumpers that might help but i have no idea which to change...
Also is there a way to install new bios with more features.
please HELP me.
