Intel SE440BX Motherboard 450mhz limit

hi guys, i have an Intel SE440BX motherboard, updated it to the latest bios version which is p12, it detects properly my P3 500Mhz proc , but it will halt and it says that "supported proc is upto 450Mhz only". any work around on this? thanks in advance. God Bless

hehe, disassemble the bios and hack that detection routine. btw. they included it because they wanted to prevent damage to the cpu voltage regulation by processors that draw too much current.

hi, i tried unpacking the compressed file, but i think intel has its own propriety bios. i dont know if there is a bios editor for it. all i see are several files inside with BI1, BI2,....

since you have a running board try to rip it from the bios chip itself..use uniflash :)

thanks for the help sir. although i now conclude that i am not capable of doing this for i have very little knowledge in assembly language
