SiS650 with Asus P4S266 to get 1440x900

I have a sony computer with an ASUS P4S266-VX mother board and a SiS650 integrated motherboard.
(I see there is an updated vBios for the P4S266-VM/U2 - Will this work for the VX?)
I just purchased a 19" Widescreen monitor and need to set my resolution at 1440x900.
According to the SiS website, I need to have my vBios updated to 2.28.00 or later. I currently have 1.08a, and Sony said that they do not have any updates available for me.
Is my only option to purchase a new video card, or can I get this one to work?
Please let me know if you need any more information!
