read the sticky post about sis video issues, it states you need to provide a link to the original bios image for download...

Backup of my BIOS (got with uniflash)

Phoenix Bios and backup via Uniflash or other flashprog is always tricky and I doubt a size of 384 KiB is correct.

Fujitsu-Siemens offers several updates for the Scenic X102 series, have you tried to get an updated Bios there? But you may need some additional information to get a correct Bios. FSC Phoenix Bios usually has a Bios Identifier number supplying not only the Phoenix internal revision number but also a motherboard ID number. This should all be visible on the Bios Bootscreen with memory test and HDD/CD detection .

It should look like Phoenix V4.06 R1.07.1115 or Phoenix V5.00 Release R1.11.2140.02

Yes, I have downloaded last update from site, but this update said that I already have last version. It looks like 1,44 floppy disk image. I copied it to diskette and booted from it.

So, official site didn't offer something newer, that I have... (((

And the same problem - bought AOC 20" widescreen today, this machine was sold in the UK thru PC world as "Packard-Bell Spirit 4000" - it has the same PTM661GX rev. 1.1 Motherboard mobo as the FS X102.

Went to the SIS site, it recommends the new UNIVGA3 driver BUT VBIOS needs to be 2.28 or above, this unit has much older VBIOS. www.spirit-computers.com doesn't have new BIOS.

I'd love to get this machine working properly - it lacks PCIe-16 slot so adding a video upgrade card is pointless. My other alternative is going to be MUCH more costly :(

Thanks for that bit of info. Off to hunt for a Packard bell bios. They have a tendency to use Award bioses. Much easier to patch...

Is it possible for you to make a backup of your bios with uniflash? Can't find that model as of yet.
