Asus A7SC can this system run WIN XP?

Hello,
I'm trying to install a system with XP. During the install process a message appears that the requires resolution can't be set. When I install a ME version of windows the only resolution that's possible is 640x480.
I allready read some articles about upgrading the driver and Bios. Is my issue similar?
Can installing a PCI videocard solve this problem too?
My systemspecifications:
CPU Type AMD Duron, 1211 MHz (12 x 101)
Moederbordnaam Asus A7SC (2 PCI, 2 DIMM, Audio, Video, LAN)
Moederbord Chipset SiS 740
Systeemgeheugen 224 MB (DDR SDRAM)
