SiS 650 widescreen problem

Hi all

Bit of a newb when it comes to bios upgrades but I was wondering if it was the way to go to solve my widescreen (or lack of it) issue.

I have an old custom built unit with a SiS chipset which I'm assuming has on board video. Details from Bios Agent below.

BIOS Type: Phoenix-Award
BIOS Date: January 9th 2004
BIOS ID: 01/09/2004-SiS-650-6A6IXFK9C-00-None
BIOS OEM: S650 Series 344xp526 010904 - 6.00 PG
Chipset: SiS 650 rev 128
SuperIO: ITE 8705/SiS 950 rev 2 at port 002E
Manufacturer: Lan Plus
Motherboard: SiS-650

I have recently picked up an Acer X233H monitor (1920x1080) and can't seem to adjust my display properties to stop the widescreen stretch effect. If anyone has any advice on how I can sort it out it would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

Ian.

OEM Foxconn
Model 650M02-G

there's no BIOS available on their support page. can you please make a backup copy of your BIOS (with uniflash) and upload it to some filehoster?

Apologies for not getting back sooner, when I run uniflash from the command prompt I get the following:

PCI bus not found or not responding.

I've tried to make a boot disk (CD) but I can't seem to get it to c:\ to run the command.

Thanks for all your help, any ideas?

for boot-cd images check www.bootdisk.com
make sure to get an image with USB support or else you won't be able to save the BIOS backup!

and NEVER EVER try to run a flasher from the command prompt from within windows!!!
