Updating bios/vbios for widescreen 1400 by 900

My main circuit board is ASUSTek Computer INC. Salmon 1.04.
I was looking fo that in
http://www.wimsbios.com/files/vgabiospatched/bios.jsp and I could not find it. I'm not sure if I was looing for the wrong thing or what. I'm really confused right now. I know I need 2.28 vbios or higher but that's pretty much it. I would really really appreciate your help. Thanks. O and I'm new here so umm.. hello!

O and I have SiS 760

go to our download page and hit the search button on your browser, type in Salmon and download the patched bios. another hint: the HP/Compaq Salmon is an Asus K8S-LA ;)

when i press yes it says proper command line parameters were not passsedo action taken
whats this mean

This means you either already got the latest bios or you managed to make a typing mistake. What procedure did you follow to flash the bios?

I just ran the hp installer i didn't do anything with the flash program. But since you said the problem could be that I already have tha latest version I think thats it. I got the bios from the hp site but they didn't include the new vbios so I found this site which had the patched version with vbios. But if thats the problem is there a way to uninstall the new bios and then install the ones from this site?

run the flasher not the installer. it's a windows application btw.

okay but i have no idea how to run the flash progarm
thats exactly why i didnt use it
i have tried messing with it but i dont want to mess anything up
in the folder i see
-315.rom
-the flashing program
-hp installer
-winflash.sys file
-a text document
-WBDDA34I.DLL file
and thats all
i duno if including that info will help but ya...
the flasher is confusing so if sumone could just explain how to use that'd be awesome

I'm with this guy.. I have not a clue how to update this. the WinFlash program just freezes even when i only update the main block. i feel like a fool right now...

Time for a clean install of windows then, obviously something is interfering, can be your virusscanner but usually some other piece of software you don't expect to interfere.
