BIOS Updates forum

Hello,

I need moded BIOS for ASUS P5S800-VM with 1600x900@60Hz resolution.

I tried update BIOS with the last version (http://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/soc ... VM1023.zip) but this version only support 1440x900@60Hz.

My driver version for SIS 661FX is 3.90. The resolution 1600x900 is avaliable, but if I apply this, the monitor show "OUT OF RANGE 74.5kHz / 60Hz".

the video bios doesn't support this resolution. so either SiS will release a new video bios which i suppose will never happen or one of the three options apply to you:

- buy an add-on vga card
- buy a new mainboard
- use linux with its 3rd party driver which can set virtually any resolution

as always you can still write an email to SiS and complain about their Windows drivers
