Generic Biosfile - get a file for Banshee PCI and the memory / TV-Out type you have .

i downloaded the right bios file for my card:
PCI Banshee w/ SDRAM but the 3dfxflash app refuses to flash the bios and coughs the following msg:
Unknown EEPROM (Manufacturer ID: C2h, Device ID: AAh)
is there any way to override this? do i need a newer version of the 3dfx flash app? the chip is a MX...
thanx in advance,

L.T.

An MX what? 28... 29... 39... 49...
If it's a 27..., then it's not flashable.

You have wrong flash utility - it does not support your Macronix chip correctly. The C2 is correct ID for flashable Macronix chips.

thanx in advance,

Try this one http://www.chaintech.co.yu/podrska/draj ... ashUtl.zip.
But I have Banshee datasheet so I might include flashing support in UniFlash.

thanx for the tip rainbow, but the flasher you told me to try doesn't work either and coughs a similar error msg than the other app:
Unknown EEPROM (Manufacturer ID: 55h, Device ID: AAh)
notice the different Man. IDs in both apps... what is that supposed to mean? the flasher utility found on 3dfxbios website is newer than the one rainbow gave me. anyway, i came across with other issue in this attempt of flashing that card: i got the VGA BIOS TSR from 3dfxbios, and it refuses to load the 1.00.10-SD BIOS i downloaded, but it works with the original BIOS revision (1.00.03-SD). i don't know what's wrong with that, as i am absolutely sure i downloaded the right BIOS version (PCI-SDRAM-no TV-out)...

thanx in advance,

L.T.

P.S.: i know this hasn't got to do with BIOSes, but what is the difference between SDRAM and SGRAM memory? all i know is that they are different types of memory, that's all...
