?? BIOS or NVIDIA card or both

I installed a nvidia FX 5200, since then my device manager shows it not working, everything is reacting very erratic. I'm assuming my BIOS needs upgrading BUT unable to locate the manufacturer. The info I have is: (AN) A 9G2,10F5 and BIOS-ACPI Revision 1004.
I have installed all the downloadable drivers, not sure where to go next. Please help with this>>Thanks Craig
