Hi all,
lets see where to start, a friend of mine reinstalled windows on his compaq pc, and now the agp slot is disabled. and there is no setting in the bios for the agp slot so it wont recognize any vid cards.
computer is a compaq presario 5900z, I checked the compaq site for a bios update but they have none for that model
specs i got from the bios agent program
Program: eSupport.com BIOS Agent Version 3.42
BIOS Date: 10/15/99
BIOS Type: PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.0.6
BIOS ID: Compaq PC X2.0 9944CMPZK360

Chipset: AMD 751 rev 35
Superio: VIA 686 rev 20 found at port 7h
OS: Win98
CPU: AMD-K7(tm) Processor 698 MHz
BIOS ROM In Socket: Unknown
BIOS ROM Size: Unknown
Memory Installed: 255 MB

my question is will a bios update fix this? and where can i find one?
I've been looking for 2 days with no luck
any suggestions as to the problem? or why it did this?
thanks in advance
