BIOS VGA Patch

I have a video card which seems to have only marginal compatibility with some Slot 1 and Socket 7 boards. Specifically:

Video Card: PCI, Hightech, CRT and DVI, 128MB, 64Mbit
Board: Tested in five different Slot 1 and Socket 7 boards.
Works well in one Gigabyte Slot 1 board and one Jetway Socket 7 board.
Fails well in one PC Partner Socket 7 board and one Gigabyte Socket 7 board.
BIOS: Gigabyte Slot 1 board running recent or latest BIOS
Jetway Socket 7 board running older BIOS - cannot upgrade
PC Partner Socket 7 board running latest BIOS patched by Wims for 120GB HDD support
Gigabyte Socket 7 board running older BIOS but plan and should be able to upgrade this

Can a BIOS be patched to enable additional VGA cards to be recognised?

Yes it can

You can repack your system Bios with vga bios roms.
I have done so with many vga cards; just do it on a 1 to 1 basis or you'll overcrowd the bios.
This is probably the lowest form of compatability your computer can have abart from drivers.
When you pack a vga card bios into your system bios; you must remove the one off the vga card.
This allows for the latest version to be used off the net.
Apart from that; there is no other way of increasing compatability/performance of any card i know of without extensive proprietary knowledge.
Because you have the super socket 7 mobo and slot 1 you probably have a system bios capable of storing such with a utility ive seen here. I ask these guys to please direct you into the right direction for the utility that repacks bios parts; I've got no time to explore.
I hope i helped.

Please specifiy the model number of your card with VGA chip used. It may be possible this card requires a PCI 2.2 slot and is only marginally backwards compatible to PCI 2.1 motherboards/chipsets.

I checked the PCI revision of the card before I purchased it and was told it supported PCI rev 2.1.

I am not sure if I will repack BIOS ROMS, though the idea is interesting.
