Does anybody experience this issue after 3.14 bios flashed. My machine is Compaq sr1710nx. When bootup, system fan failure was detected and have to press F2 to continue. I am not even able to get in bios setup menu any more. When get into XP, new hardware was found and ask me to install driver.
Any comment will be appreciated.

Try to clear CMOS either per jumper on your board or by removing the battery for 30 seconds. Then you should be able to enter Bios and load Setup Defaults.

solution doesn't work

Thanks for your reply. But nothing changes after reset. The only difference I can see is it does give you change to enter BIOS setup screen for one time after reset. It seems I have to mod bios and disable System Fan check when bootup.

Thanks,

That is what the main thread on this bios is for...
http://www.wimsbios.com/phpBB2/topic8350.html
- The new unknown device can be fixed by the AMD Away driver. AMD has released a null driver to make this go away, and it is available for download from MSI.
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/d ... 730&kind=1
Read the readme file in the download and follow the easy directions. It solved the problem entirely. No more unknown device and one new device "AMD Away" in System Devices.

The good thing is that it's a null driver--doesn't do anything, just makes the unknown device go away.

- If you press F11 instead of F1 the bios setup gives you more options for turning off the fan monitor. Example press f11 then go to advanced then scroll down to hardware monitor.

It works now!

Thanks you edwin. I finally able to get into setup screen and turn off system fan check with F11 key. Now I can enjoy the reincarnated machine at this weekend. But the link provided for AMD AWAY driver seems not working any more. Here is working one I found from DriverPacks.net Forum. http://www.verzend.be/v/763079/2_1_setup.rar.html
Thanks again for helping.
