SIS650 in ASUS P4SGL-VM Motherboard

Hi there, could someone help me with a patch for this BIOS? ASUS support is non-existant, and after updating everything on the machine I have found the "VBIOS" as SIS calls it, is still at 1.11.05. This means my shiny nice new Asus 19" widescreen won't work.

The board uses Award Bios 6, sis650 chipset and maximum resolution of 1280x1024.

I tried following the steps in this forum using cbrom, but I got an error saying "1008gl.004 have not enough space for adding ROM", using the 1008 with LAN BIOS. There was no VGA block in ANY of the downloadable BIOS files for this board, therefore nothing I could replace with the updated "VBIOS".

The link to the latest BIOS file from Asus is here: http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/soc ... 08gl04.zip

Thanks again!

p.s. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

I also have the same problem with the BIOS update. The VBIOS version stays the same at 1.11.05.

I have an ASUS P4SGL-VM Motherboard with Sis650 chipset and Award BIOS.

Please send me a copy of the patched BIOS for wide screen support. My email address is wynands@speedymail.org.
