bios upgrade 2a69ka1bc

I have an old ambit bx20 board with intal 2a69ka1bc-gz with intel i440bx/zx award bios 4.51. The bios has been changed in some way as the computer on boot-up, stops and you have to hit f1 to get it to the desk top. I would like to get it back to the original or upgrade to recognize more ram. I would appreciate any help.thank you.
