how do I save my current bios in case I mess it up doing any of the above
procedure
can I make a bootable floppy to flash it back

My Computer....
Micron Client Pro 550MHz 256 MB Ram
amibios hiflex setup utility version 1.23 (I need 1.23b)
Windows XP SP3

My promblem...
In Cmos CPU Speed and Cpu Ratio Selection are unchangable and greyed out I pulled a jumper labeled JP2 ON LOCK thinking this is why CPU ratio selection says locked that didn't work so now I wonder if a different version can help me

I only want to install a 733Mhz processor into this but I cannot get to the screen to configure the 733 and those are the only 2 options in cmos regarding the CPU

Thank you all in advance for any assistance

The 733 is not going to do anything at all speedwise unless you put more RAM into that system. It is usually calmly swapping around all your stuff to the harddisk, the CPU is most likely not doing anything during those stages.
