I own a PC Tower with a Motherboard MS-7060 661FX from MSI, running Windows 7 x86.
Bios:
Phoenix-Award BIOS v6.00PG.
MS-7060SMS v2.0 030705 10:20:58
03/07/2005-SiS-661FX-6A7I4M4HC-00

Mobo has a Sata chip 964 with 2 adapters RAID capable.
At Boot after SiS Bios infos it shows:
Silicon Integrated System Corp. RAID BIOS Setting Utility v1.04_964
Press<Ctrl><S> to enter setup menu.
Primary Master OCZ-AGILITY3 223GB UDMA6
Secondary Master not found

Processor is a Prescott Pentium 4 3.06Ghz Socket 478

I would like to install Windows 8.1 x86 but at install it fails with an error msg:
Your PC needs to restart.
Please hold down the power button.
Error code: 0x0000000A
Parameters:
0xFFFFFFE6
0x0000001F
0x00000000
0x8178650B

Trying Windows 8.1 x64, it says my machine is not compatible with this Windows version.

"Googling" on this I see that Processor is compatible, but I need to activate "Virtualisation" in BIOS.

As I cannot see this in my BIOS parameters I Wonder if there is some hidden options which could
activate this "Virtualisation"??

Can some of you help me please?

I am not too sure your CPU is compatible especially since you have a socket 478 variant. Please verify at the Intel website:
http://www.intel.com/support/processors ... 030729.htm

The last bios for your board is dating from october 2005 so in theory that may add VT

Thank answering,
You are right, the Intel processor utility says that "Intel Virtualisation Technology" is NOT supported.
But how this Utility can check the "Virtualisation Technology" as the BIOS has no option to activate VT?

Can you please give me a link about the october 2005 bios, as mine is dated July 3 2005?

Each Intel processor has a CPU ID that determines the model and the stepping of the CPU. Based on that the utility knows what features are available in that CPU. It does not need to actually test for VT.

I will try and dig up your bios from the Medion website which, as you know, is a challenge to navigate for information
