Hi!

Can anybody tell me where to download an award-bios-upgrade for a trang bow mainboard?
I was on almost every site relating the topic "bios", but no success!

Thanks,

Flatmike

Trang Bow TB-6BX; Rainbow has a BIOS for it, according to Google.

Patched for disks up to 128 (137) Gb and emailed :) Please report back.... remember, you flash at your own risk.

I think I didn't describe the problem the right way. First we tried to
detect the big HDD with the original bios. It didn't work which is no big
surprise. So I started to search the web for a newer version. I was very
frustrated because the "Trang-Bow" board has no software support at all. So
I tried Wim's bios-site and the usenet to find something. You answered me
attaching the new bios. I flashed the bios and restarted the PC. After
entering "your" bios-version I saw that it was password protected. The old
version wasn't. So the password protection has already been in the
".bin"-file. We cleared the CMOS, tried to detect the HDD. No success. We
restarted the computer (Win98 SE) and received from now on a lot of "general
protection fault" messages. We reflashed the bios with the old version.
Restart. Same failures! It's the PC of a friend of mine. He's so frustrated
he wants to get a new mainboard now.

I downloaded that newer bios listed at that rainbow. something site and it
works.
When I rebooted after flashing it it was password locked so I shorted the
jumper on the mobo and it came up and worked fine. It reset it all the way,
the clock and everything and cleared the password. It DID bring the bios up
from 1998 to 02/23/1999 which is a step in the right direction.

I am willing to try both versions as I am going to be buying a 120g drive
this weekend.
Hmmm. Don't forget the DMA mode setting, is all I can say.
