Hello,

Can anyone help me with a bios image for Vectra_VLi8_PIII, motherboard model KZM-6120 by FIC computer. On their ftp archive i could not find anything related to this motherboard. Also i am unable to find the HP archive ftp , as i know they have something like this but lost the reference to it.

Also i need some instructions on creating a bootable diskette for this model if there are any special considerations...executable involved in flashing without a screen and general diskette setup. I am asking this because on the MB i have a switch which can put the system into recovery mode but of course it needs the file on a floppy.... i have the user manual for this system , but no reference to crisis situations and how to handle

Thank you very much in advance

Alex.

Hi, Looks like i was able to find the BIOS download from the HP site...don't know why i was unable the first time. The only thing i can think of, it's that i didn;t checked under " OS = Not OS dependant". I am getting more and more distracted, hmmm.... Anyway, sorry to waste forum space with my request. Will give it a try to see if it flashes under crisis mode from the floppy and if afterwards i can boot normally.

Will keep you updated.

Thank you and again, sorry !

Alex.

I managed to get the bios image from HP, made a bootable floppy , flash it under rescue mode as i saw everything using an ISA Video card. The main problem it's that i have the lock led lit. It was lit before the flash and i flash it because i thought that somehow maybe the BIOS got corrupted. After the flash still the same problem lock led lit ( orange led ).... i am unable to find out why this it's happening. If someone knows why a HP Vectra VLi8 would light up the lock led and no post no beep no nothing....

Thank you

Did you put the switches on the switch block back to their original positions? It sunds like the CRISIS one is still in the ON position.

Yes, the switches are all OK and in the correct position. I am assuming a PCH problem and will exchange it soon...haven't done anything to it since the last post
