award bios problems

help my machine stopped working ,it had a bios checksum error
removed all memory tryed them on other machine seemed ok ,changed
video card still no luck so that left the bios but when I try to flash it
with the correct bios I just get the message system was not new award
bios version please updata rom bios
motherboard is elitegroup p6bxt-a+ vers 1-1
I must be doing something wrong but what??? :!: :!:

bios checksum error usually results from empty CMOS battery or power supply problems. Replace the CMOS battery first (least expensive, easiest to do).

"CMOS Checksum Error" -> replace battery
"BIOS Checksum Error, Award BootBlock BIOS" -> check CPU, memory, reflash BIOS

Thank you all I've done it,replaced battery it booted fine then video card died ,put another video card in and so far its all working fine

Maybe the original (now dead) video card somehow drained the CMOS battery? Usually these things last from five to ten years...

had it running a few hours now and its still fine I just hope thats all it was
and nothing more drastic happens
