USB Problem

I have a Chaintech 6BDU M101 Motherboard. I installed Win 2k on it after a bios update, and now my Intel 82371 AB/EB PCI to USB Universal Host Controller gives this problem:
Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35)
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.
What can i do?

What's your current BIOS release? Our Associate, DennisS, seems to be great at hunting down Chaintech BIOSes...

4.Improve compatibility with some Y2K test software on RTC roll-over test
5.Fixes RTC date/time adjust not correct
Then installed windows 2k. I don't know if my bios version before the one from 1999/3/5 would have worked, cause the floppy i saved it on is broken...

Maybe Clear CMOs and the "Load Setup/Performance Defaults" in Bios helps - Configuration Data might be confused with the newer Bios
and/Or delete the USB Controller in Windows and let it re-detect
Are there resources assigned to this device ? > If not is a manual assigning possible ?

I am in the same position as you.
I have Windows XP and Windows 2000 loaded and both of them give me huge problems. At least Windows 2000 will work reasonably well, although USB and serial support both show up as exclamation marks in windows 2000.
I replaced the BIOS with the latest version from bios upgrades and installed 2 pentium 850 cpus and still problems perserver.
I have emails outstanding to Chaintech and Biod upgrades and wait for an answer.
Let me know if you get any further.l

In your BIOS change to MPS 1.1 in the BIOS instead of 1.4.
It worked a treat for me.
USB works great for the first time.
