Some guy at Motherboards forums was looking for the 2177 BIOS as well, to get support for >32 Gb. See here
Is yours later than 12/14/99 MVP3-586-8661-2A5LEU1DC-00 ?

WHy do you need a newer BIOS ?

You will not get that functionality on an IBM motherboard, if it does not previously exist.

It's rather unlikely. The big names, like IBM, Compaq & Gateway "dumb down" the BIOS to prevent users from doing what you want to do.

If you follow the link Nick provided, you'll see the manufacturer is gone, so any BIOS will need to come from IBM. If there's no jumpers to adjust FSB, and the CPU is currently auto-detected, you're probably s.o.l.

If you can identify the clock generator chip (usually a small 20-40pin chip close to a small metal component usually marked "14.377" - the crystal) you may be able to use a utility such as SoftFSB to change the FSB.

cpufsb/cpucool > www.podien.de
Both should be able to help with your FSB settings
