I'm going nuts here....

I just got a brand "newold" MS-5130 and started investigating for a more recent BIOS.

Latest version available from the official MSI sites:
04/10/97-SiS-5596-5513-2A5IFM49C-00
WJ76 041097

Latest "google" version (can't find it anywhere):
08/28/98-SiS-5596-5513-2A5IFM49C-00
W5130MS V2.1 041499
...mentioned here:
http://y2k.nstl.com/html/micro-star_y2k_compliant.html (first mobo in list)

After hours of browsing, I only managed to find an unreleased beta:
04/24/97-SiS-5596-5513-2A5IFM49C-00
WJ77U1 042497
...found here:
http://ftp.cc.ntut.edu.tw/ftp/Vendors/M ... 5xxx/5130/

Now... does anybody know where I can find the latest release? I don't mind whether it's for a special OEM board or not. I've got the ctflasher, so it's safe.

Edit...Looks like it says it has a date of 99, but is from early 97. Oh well.

Good little reference table for old MSI boards.

Thanks, soupy. Nice bit of info there, although it doesn't really solve my "problem" :(

Perhaps Dennis, the MSI "expert"... :-)

Nothing I know of - even our russian Bios archiver do not have anything newer .
Try to ask MSI support - maybe they still have some newer (Beta) Bios .

I know INVES. They're a subcompany of the largest department store in Spain ("El Corte Inglés"). All they do is buy standard mobos and baptize the system that includes the particular mobo. In this case, the system was called "Covadonga 97 MS5130", as soupy discovered.

BTW, they're the only company I know of with a 3-month money-back no-questions-asked warranty, but they're very expensive.
