Setting up Epox 8KTA3+ board and manual says 'Eeprom Bios Remover' must be completed before powering on system. What does this mean; surely the bios chip doesn't have to be removed on a new board!
Can anyone help please?

Does it mean the Clear CMOS jumper?

No idea if CMOS has to be cleared but will try that.

It could be that the jumper is set to a "transport" position and has to be connected.

What is 'transport' position? I always have trouble with jumpers!
I have an idea that the BIOS is on default settings and when these are changed it has to update, in which case I shall try clearing CMOS and see what happens - when I get around to it.

I'd say Nick is probably referring to a transport position where the jumper is bridging some pins but the system ignores it, as the connection of those pins serve no purpose.
Such as some drives when you don't want to set the jumper to anything they either provide a spare set of pins or say that you can place the jumper over two particular pins, either of which method allows the drive to recognise the jumper as if it is not in place.
