Hope someone can help i have a fic P4-865pe max mother board and I'm trying to update my bios and everything go's OK i get the flash to start but after i enter the name of the .bin to flash to it says source file not found but i know its on the floppy I've tried to get it to work many different ways and I'm out of ideas.reason I'm trying to flash the bios is I'm updating my CPU from a p4 2.4 northwood to a p4 3.2 Prescott and after i put the new CPU in it seems to be booting fine but i get no monitor i cant see anything, but after i put the old CPU back in it says new CPU found and boots just fine.and according to this ftp://ftp.fic.com.tw/motherboard/cpu_ta ... 5PEMax.pdf
it should run this CPU with the latest bios

Use a bootdisk.
At A: prompt insert a second disk with the BIOS file and flash program.

Then you typed in a wron name for the file you want to flash. OR the filename is not in the DOS 8+3 format - all longer names will end up in DOS as newfla~1.bin.
Maybe you forgot to copy the new Bios onto the bootfloppy ?

NO i typed the name just how it is on the floppy, and i tried putting the bin file on the floppy 4 or 5 times now just to make sure nothing went wrong with copying.heres the link where i got the file from its the ifd46 version i got http://www.fic.com.tw/support/motherboa ... del_id=125

Rename the file IFD46_3384.BIN to newbios.bin and try again.

Well i guess this mother board wont run this proc cause i still got no monitor and there was no beeps when i started it and after all that i seen in the on line Manuel that it supports a P4 up to a 3.06 :( guess i will have to wait for my new MB to show up, it should run it just fine i got a
ABIT "IC7-G MAXII ADVANCE" i875P :D
