You need to run first ph5e0.exe to decompress the file and you get PH5S_E0.BIN
Copy Awdflash.exe and PH5S_E0.BIN to a system disk.

thanks for the info Kuriaki ,
I have only 40 wire IDE cables in the computer so now I wait until new 80 wire cables which arrive in 2 weeks .
I am hoping that because I have 40 wire cables it is why the power LED stays on Red .

thankyou , I think I try the flash proceedure now .
do you think I should be confident with the PH5EO.BIN flash .
...I don't think I can trust that automated " we have a bios to suit your motherboard " from Award

it's a little more complicated than that , I have to pay for it too you see .
and I will have to buy a new hard drive for it too .
some good news for the future though , the Bios chip in the PH5 board is not soldered to the board which I think can mean I could hot flash ?? the bios chip if I have to .
...hmm , no other MEC Abit PH070C motherboard to play with....
