Phoenix BIOS - W2K won't load after 128Mb to 512Mb upgrade

System: HP Pavilion 8750c PIII 6.67MHz
BIOS: Phoenix 4.0 Rel 6.0.0
Old memory: 2 sticks of 64Mb PC-100 for a total of 128Mb
New Memroy: 2 sticks of 256 MB PC100 for a totla of 512Mb

The system makes it through the initial setup and begins loading w2k. The w2k logo appears on the screen followed by a blue screen with a STOP exception and the text "The ACPI BIOS in this system is not fully compliant with ACPI ....". This version of Phoenix will not allow me to disable ACPI. Does anyone know why w2k chokes on a simple memory upgrade? I assume its something in the BIOS tables but I am new to debugging BIOS issues.

When it's going through the text portion of the the boot, it displays "Phoenix BIOS 4.0 Release 6.0.0.

Have you tried each 256MB stick separately?

As I said to you in my PM, that is the BIOS core version (Phoenix BIOS 4.0 Release 6.0.0).

You need to look at the boot screen a bit more closely to see which HP BIOS version you are running.

AJZ - I mentioned this as well in my PM about the "one stick at a time", but didn't get a reply as of yet.
