I have problems with my asus P2B-LS motherboard recognizing
my new 80 GB harddisks :( My current bios version is 1006

I therefor downloaded asus' bios 1014beta3 from
http://support.asus.com/download/downlo ... uage=en-us
which gives me a file with the name 1014LS.003 sofar all seems well.

I started the bios update program which now tells me:

[current] ASUS P2B-LS ACPI BIOS Revision 1006
[1014LS.003] ASUS P2B-LS ACPI BIOS Revision 1014 Beta 003

Looks good sofar, but:

Chipset and Model results in:
[current] i440BX-P2B-LS
[1014LS.003] 2-i440BX-P2B-LS

And a warning telling me that the BIOS model does not match the
current one installed...

Anyone know whether I can continue safely?

TIA,

Richard

It appeared to be a Y2K bug! After I used a newer aflash
version, to be downloaded from the same page as mentioned
before, all went well.
