cmos battery pin broken

Hi the cmos battery pin (the positive one that holds the 3v) battery is broken. Is it possible to feed 3v via the cmos reset jumpers? Thanks (is 3.6v from cordless phone battery too much?) Thanks

Does your motherboard have "External Battery" terminals? If so, use that.

Desolder the battery holder (assuming standard CR2032 battery) and solder in a new one (or take it from some dead board).
