need help for bios update

i got a via chipset based motherboard.while power on, no display.after inserting a vga card in the pci slot it says award boot block v1.0,bios rom checksum error.it is accesing the floppy drive.i downloaded the bios from the manufacturer website and i created a bootable floopy disk ,in that i copied the bios file and flash file.in the autoexec.bat i wrote the following lines as,
awdflah biosfile.bin /pb and saved.i booted with that floppy,but it is not updating the bios.ny other procedure forupdating the bios means please provide.needed very urgently.

You mean "awdflash biosfile.bin /sy ?

Syntax/Flags:

could be a good idea for backing up the BIOS but I would think that

/py

would be more important in this instance as it stands for "program YES". Without

/py

the AWDFLASH program may be waiting for a user prompt to continue.

bios update

sorry for the mistake,but i corrected the line,still the same.the floppy drive led is glowing,but not doing anything.shorted bot high address pins in the bios chip.

What exactly does the line of text inside your AUTOEXEC.BAT file say?

Also, did you remember to include the AWDFLASH.EXE program on the floppy disk, that the AUTOEXEC.BAT file will actually call?


Finally, someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I do not remember AWARD Bootblock BIOS operating off a floppy boot disk. I remember something more to do with the BIOS image being flashed directly from the floppy without the O/S boot files.
