I currently have AMI bios (the latest version available) but have power problems using W2K. The alternative for my M/B is Award bios which seems to have a fix for my problem. Can I simply flash my board with the Award bios? Are there any likely negative reprecussions of switching BIOS type?

I think it would be wise to tell us exactly which board you have before we can give a decent answer. Differs from board to board.

It should work. Make sure that you use the correct BIOS - there are two different board versions - one with CPU Plug*Play and one without.

Thanks! :)
I saw there were two types of board. Any advice on how to tell them apart?

CPU PnP means FSB/Multiplier configuration via Bios menu and Standard Mainboard means configuration by Jumper or DIP-Switches installed onto the Board .
