Hi, I was given an old pc I'm going to use as a server!
Bios id strings is the following: 10/20/1998-VP4-686A-2A5LHM49C-00
It's a Microstar motherboard with an Apollo Via VP4 chipset, as you can see...

My answer are:

1 - where can I find and download a bios update ?

2 - I upgraded using this bios that should let me mount HDs larger 32 GB: http://wims.rainbow-software.org/rainbo ... 20v1.0.zip : Is it ok??? Should I use another one ??

Thanks in advance
emaj

Open the case and have a look at the motherboard. There should be MS-5187 printed onto it between the PCI slots.

Do you see W5187MS V1.3 110499 just below the Award logo on your screen when the system does its memory check ?

Yes I can see W5187MS V1.3 110499 just below Award logo on the screen (but take into consideration that I've already upgraded using the bios mentioned above).
And now ???? what do I have to do ? change bios? use another upgrade ???

You have used the latest known patched bios for this board. No need for further upgrades.
