Hi,
my old PC-Chips M760V-Rev.14 ahngs after checking the RAM.
CPU is recognized correctly as Celeron 300A
RAM-Check: 131072KB OK
Trend ChipAwayVirus(R) On Guard
WAIT...

But I can wait for hours :(
MB was dead and I hotflashed it on another board.
If I press DEL before RAM-check does not solve that problem.
The BIOS writes this "WAIT..." too. :(

Tried disconnecting all IDE devices?

Yes, I disconnected all the HDD and/or the FDD.
I would like to disable the FDD but I can't change the BIOS settings. The computer hangs before entering the setup :(

Sure you flashed the right revision? There are 2.

Yeah,
the revision is printed on the board.
I'm sure it was the right one. :)
btw I remember that the two pins at the isa-slot were shortcutted when I got the board (thatwy I got it I think :) ).
B13 - A13 and B14 - A14 were shortcutted.
So I think something is killed on that board.
The PS2 Keyboard connector still works but a ISA-VGA-Card does not (I have no Cable for the VGA connector to use the onboard VGA)

Ok, I found out that if I deactivate the onboard IDE controller the system boots up.
If I activate them again the system hangs and I can't even go into the bios setup. Is there anybody who has the same problem?
It is possible that only the IDE controller is damaged in the southbridge? Sounds strange to me.

I have a PC Chips M918 board (486) - it always hanged at POST (AMI BIOS) no matter what the settings were. Then I replaced the PROM with Flash ROM with GigaByte GA-5486AL BIOS flashed (Award BIOS) - it booted immediately and ran without any problems...

I don't think that works for "newer" mainboards.
Do you know another mainboard with the same komponents. I think it's not that easy with the PCChips760V. It has a lot of onboard components.
