Hello i have a problem.

When i start up my old pc he gives :cmos checksum eror defaults loaded.
and then under it he ask if i want to go on push f1 or del for entering setup.
But this don't work.
It's not the battery because i put in a new one also the same type.
My mobo is a Asus p2l97 .
When i read in the instructions the speak :the cmos ram is powerd by the onboard buttoncell battery.to clear the rtc data turn off the computer and remove the ac power.
then i must shortcut two points on the board labeled:clrtc.
then turn on the computer and hold down del.
I did it with a electricion wire but i still get the same message.
Maybe someone of you know what i can do?

Thanks

Go into Bios - Load Setup Defaults - Save and Exit

Make sure you replaced the dead battery with a battery of same type - CR2032
Make sure the contact are OK with the new battery - no leaked stuff from the old battery or bent/broken contakts

remove battery and short circuit the + and - connector in the battery socket with a screwdriver for some seconds
You have to remove power from your PSU and press power button once to unload capacitors inside the PSU and onto the mainboard

If this doesn't work remove all PCI-cards except VGA card and all memory except of one and try again
