Flashed BIOS, now hanging during POST

I've flashed my MSI 6378 V3.0 with the latest BIOS 3.4 which I patched with BIOS Patcher 4.10 from www.rom.by.

The flash was successful, but now the system hangs during the POST, the CPU is still recongnized and shown, but after that the system stops.

What can I do now?

I tried your hint with an autoexec.bat, flasher & bios on a floppy, but that didn't work.

As far as I can see it's not possible to change the Flash ROM-Chip.

If I remember, there is a keystroke sequence that you can execute at boot that will disable apple_rom's patches and execute your original BIOS routines.

Can you do that?

well, I don't know what you mean but I could fix it: when I turned on the computer with the keyboard plugged off the old BIOS appeared and I was able to flash the original one again (don't know why it worked, because with the KB plugged in it didn't work).

Unplugging the keyboard is another way to disable the patch.

As per instruction on Apple_rom's site remove keyboard or hold the "-" key while powering on to use the unpatched Bios
He calls this feature "Virtual Dual-Bios"
http://www.rom.by/articles/BP/index_english.htm

BTW version number reached 4.15

A while ago, I've reflashed a BIOS for QDI BrillianX 5 board that refused to boot after patching the latest BETA BIOS with bp. Neither "-", nor unplugged keyboard helped (only c't Flasher :) )

Glad you got it back up and running... :D

So what did you need to have patched in? Maybe an associate here can help you...

I guess you should report your results to apple_rom so he can try to fix the problem...
