I just got a brand new DFI MB, with AWARD BIOS. I got everything hooked up and going, except the keyboard and mouse. When I turned on the PC for the first time the BIOS worked, but I forgot to plug in the keyboard and mouse  So I just simply turned off the power and pluged in the keyboard and mouse. turned back on the PC and now nothing comes up on the screen, no beep no nothing. The one thing I did note is the floppy light stays on the whole time its powered up. There is no OS on the HD as that is new as well. I'm wanting to make a fresh install of XP on my new HD, and use it with my new MB, but I can't do anything till BIOS is working again. What should I do? :?:

The Floppy cable is upside down.

Also check to be sure the the keyboard and mouse are in the proper ports.I have never had a problem that I can remember when hooking the these cables up backwards. But this is a possability.

Let us know how you make out.

Thanks for the input. That doesn't seen to do anything. It's like the motherboard is going to the floppy for information. I still have no BIOS beep at all.

Remove the floppy and harddrive ribbon cables from the board, plug only the keyboard in, only one Dimm in socket1, only VGA Adapter, no other pci cards. Also check, that the heatsink from the cpu is correct installed, sometimes the board will work a few seconds and than it burns the cpu because of not correctly mounted cooler. And sometimes the board doesn´t do anything because of alarm-settings for fan-failure, if there are more than one fan-connectors try to occupie all the connectors with borrowed fans, just for testing.
