Biostar M7VKQ mobo just died

Hello!
There was a power flicker this morning that caught my computer just as it was turning on, before even the bios bootsplash could be displayed. Now the computer will not POST. After googling around a bit, the only options seem to be replacing the bios chip, getting a new motherboard, or sending my current chip off to be reprogrammed. I was hoping that someone here would have another solution?

System specs:
Biostar M7VKQ mobo
Phoenix d686 bios
512Mb SDRAM
AMD Duron Processor

PC is home-built and has been running fine for over a year, so poorly installed hardware was probably not the cause. Please help!

Sounds more like a dead PSU...

PSU problem?

A PSU problem, you say? Please explain further.

Hmmm...seems like I had a small brainfart and forgot what "psu" meant :p

Anyway, the PSU is definately *not* the problem. Fans are on, power and drive led's are on, hard drive spins up, and the optical drives spin up to do their own internal checks, so the psu is working.

fixed it!

I went browsing around the other topics and noticed that someone mentioned clearing the CMOS settings. I figured it was worth a shot, and lo! It worked! The flicker must have caught it while reading the cmos (or something like that). Thanks for your help!
