Hello,
I wondered if anyone could assist me please with this problem.

After a botched BIOS update attempt I have just resorted to the shorting of the address pins method on the BIOS chip and have now managed to get the following messages on the screen :

OR IF I STARTUP WITH THE FLOPPY IN A .DRIVE I GET THIS MESSAGE BELOW:

The problem is that the keyboard doesn't function in order to press enter , in fact the keyboard doesn't seem to be recognised at all , I have tried another one and the same result , both keyboards are PS2 .
I have cleared CMOS ,removed the battery and replaced it with a new one .

Motherboard : Chaintech 6vIa6
Bios : Award Modular BIOS v.6OOPG
Update file attempted : 6via6t122 ( supplied direct from Chaintech )

Use awdblock (use search) to boot into DOS. Create autoexec.bat on the floppy (using another computer) that will flash the BIOS automatically - so you don't have to use the keyboard.

I'm afraid I omitted a piece of vital info on my first posting which is, I have to admit to being a bit of a DUMBO when it comes to these matters .

I wondered if anybody would be kind enough to explain to me exactly which files, and what should be in them ,and what they should be called when I copy them to the floppy disc on another PC in order to try to fix this problem .

After I have created the floppy bootdisc , I notice there are already 10 files created on the new disc , I wondered should they stay or should they be deleted , they are called as follows :

DISPLAY
EGA2.CPI
EGA3.CPI
EGA.CPI
KEYB
KEYBOARD
KEYBRD2
KEYBRD3
KEYBRD4
MODE

Once again please excuse my ignorance and lack of savvy concerning this.

I wondered if anyone could please assist me with this again .I have followed the instructions in the awdflash file which was in the awdblock program, as the PC I 'm using to create the floppy disc is Win XP and there isn't DOS ,I downloaded a" Driver free disk for Bios flashing " from http://www.bootdisk.com/ and used "drdflash.exe" to create the disc , I copied UNIFLASH.EXE + AWDFLASH.EXE + new BIOS-file onto the disc and tried it , but there was no difference I still get the same messages as before both with the flashing cursor , but still unable to use the keyboard ;

I see in the instructions with awdblock No 5 : says "If the boot block BIOS at your computer doesn't display anything but keeps on reading from your floppy, thn you have to create AUTOEXEC.BAT and write UNIFLASH with the correct parameters for flashing your BIOS into it."
It's at this point I would greatly appreciate some advice of how to do this ,what to put in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file exactly.

1) Make a bootable DOS-Disk:
- Boot up DOS and type SYS A:
2) Copy the the UNIFLASH.EXE onto your Disk
- Uniflash can be optained here:
http://www.pppr.sk/rainbow/programs.html#UniFlash
3) Copy your new BIOS-file onto your disk (usually a .BIN file)
4) Copy the AWDFLASH.EXE from this package onto your disk
5) If the boot block BIOS at your computer doesn't display anything
but keeps on reading from your floppy, thn you have to create
AUTOEXEC.BAT and write UNIFLASH with the correct parameters for
flashing your BIOS into it.
6) Insert the prepared floppy and hope, that it works :)
